Let me back up : Smart Card had only been in training with Pat Crawford for about 6 Months before going to the nationals. The week before I was not sure if we were ready or not but when we arrived we made a trip to the practice pen and that's when the light came on for both of us.

March 14th   20k N/P 1st Go Round : We ended up having rerun cows and they were really bad and marked a 207 and finished 21st to made the finals.

March 15th   50k Amt 1st Go Round : Cows were great and Smart Card was awesome marking a 217 to win the 1st Go Round.

March 15th   20k N/P Finals : The cows were still very bad and we finished with a 203 to end up 20th place.

March 16th   10k Amt. 1st Go Round : We ended up marking a 210 for 20th place and making the Finals in our 2cd class in a row.

March 16th   50k Amt. Finals : I remember as I was walking into the herd hearing Pat say ( are you going to make it ) YEP.  Then he said JUST SIT DOWN, RELAX, LET HIM WORK & GO FOR IT. The cows that we picked were great and Smart Card was Awesome to say the least. We marked a 218 to win the 50k Amt. National Championship

March 17th   10k Amt. Finals : We had already won the 50k Amt. so we had nothing to loose we still had a good run in the finals to end up 5th marking a 211

Entered 3 Classes and made the finals in all 3.

Not bad for a guy who was sicker then a dog and almost fell off his horse.
